While every season brings something to celebrate at Waterways, there is something extra special about Fall. The air is crisp, and it’s easy to enjoy the outdoors with neighbors. On top of this, our residents love getting festive and have created some Halloween traditions that we can’t help but want to share!
You’ve Been Booed!
Residents of Waterways have adopted this deliciously sweet tradition over the years. Without fail, all throughout October, neighbors young and not-so-young leave “Boo Baskets” on each other’s porches with notes instructing the recipient to pass along the fun. Kids and pets are overjoyed to receive treats and toys, and adults are often surprised to be “Booed” by their neighbors too!
Halloween Porch Displays
In the South, we like our porches to make a statement, and Halloween is no exception! Biking or walking around Waterways is extra entertaining this time of year, because there are so many unique displays to look at. Although some displays are grim and others are more traditional, one thing’s for sure… many of our residents can’t resist the chance to show off their decorating skills!
It’s Fall Y’all
The weekend before Halloween this year, residents enjoyed a new event sponsored by the Waterways Owners Association. This get-together was held at our Ridgewood Events Lawn, where attendees enjoyed pumpkin painting, bocce ball, and carnival style games like Halloween Hole-In-One and Skeleton Skull Launch. This was a kid-friendly event followed by an outdoor showing of the movie, “Hocus Pocus.”
For the past several years, residents have met at Trellis Park for an informal Costume Parade before Trick or Treating on Halloween. Our residents love dressing up, and prizes are typically awarded for kids and adults in various categories. This is such a fun way to kick off the Halloween festivities, and we can’t wait for this year’s event!
